Town planner Steve Connelly (CPP FPIA) has worked on the Elevation site for the past eighteen years. He prepared the original master planning for the locality and made submissions to council for the rezoning of the land. The owners at the time asked Steve to prepare the first stage Development Application. At that time Urbex were making exploratory visits to Northern NSW looking for quality sites that suited their brand and image. After completing successful projects Australia wide, and particularly similar ones in Townsville and South East Queensland, they were hoping to identify land for development in the region.
Urbex immediately saw the potential of the 46 hectare site, with its historic dry stone wall dating back to the 1850s and its level, elevated land with expansive hinterland views that are preserved in perpetuity through zonings.
Steve Connelly and a team which included Peter Egerton of RPS Australia planned the boutique hilltop community to offer 116 home sites over five stages.
Carefully considered design guidelines have been prepared to enhance the quality and livability at Elevation by encouraging a consistent and high standard of building design whilst maintaining the quality of the natural environment.
